The Department of Education (DepEd) Region VII held the solidarity meeting on March 21, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Enan Chiong Activity Center (ECAC). Schools Division Offices (SDOs) from across Region VII gathered for the event demonstrating unity and strong support for the CVIRAA Meet 2026.
Ms. Nanette G. Repunte , Education Program Supervisor in MAPEH, formally acknowledged all participating SDOs. Following this, in his welcome message, Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Dr. Ronald G. Gutay encouraged all delegates to embrace the true essence of solidarity. He emphasized that, “Solidarity promotes unity and teamwork, fosters respects, and strengthen sportsmanship.”
In his inspirational speech, DepEd Region VII Director Dr. Salustiano T. Jimenez gave a heartfelt message and sincerely thanked the Local Government of the City of Naga, led by Hon. Valdemar M. Chiong , and SDS Dr. Ronald G. Gutay for hosting the CVIRAA Meet 2026. He also urged all delegates staying in the city for billeting and sports events to practice kindness and understanding assuring everyone that both the Local Government Unit (LGU) and SDO Naga are dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for young athletes.
The Officer-in-Charge Chief of Police (COP) of the City of Naga PNP, PLTCOL Dexter M. Calacar , also provided updates on the peace and order situation throughout the weeklong competition and expressed confidence in the security measures in place to ensure the safety of all participants. More than 200 PNP personnel from various stations across Region VII have been deployed, with 14 personnel assigned during the opening of the CVIRAA Meet on March 22, 2026. PLTCOL Calacar also assured all participating SDOs and their athletes that Police Assistance Desks are available at all sporting venues and billeting quarters for immediate support and assistance.
Mr. Tomas T. Pastor , Chief of the Education Support Services Division (ESSD) of DepEd Region VII, presented the rationale of the plenary session of the solidarity meeting. Meanwhile, a simultaneous solidarity meeting was also held in Cebu City for delegates participating in badminton, athletics, and swimming.
As SDS Gutay aptly stated, “Victory is sweeter when earned together.” This message highlights that beyond medals and achievements, true victory lies in unity, shared experiences, and living out the spirit of genuine solidarity
